Daydreamin' about Lupe

It's been almost a day since Lupe Fiasco retweeted something I wrote to him and I still can't come to my senses and accept the fact that this is all real. It's crazy to fantasize and wonder what it would be like if your idol were to acknowledge your existance. I had already programmed it in my head that one day Lupe was going to know who I was or he was going to hear of me. I was in my room listening to Lupe himself until I decided to refresh his twitter (which I do every few hours) just to see if he posted anything new. I thought I was daydreaming when I saw "marsunivercity" along with my picture and a tweet of mine. It took me a few seconds and gasps of air to come back down from Mars and realize what had just happened. Lupe Fiasco retweeted ME. I screamed as loud as possible and got in trouble from my mom because she thought something happened to me. Looking back, that was pretty hilarious. However, something did happen to me. Something I've been wanting to happen since I was 12 finally came true. Lupe finally acknowledged my existance. Just to show you what happens when you never give up! ;]

FIRST Man on the Moon.

Sorry Kid Cudi, but you're not the only man on the moon. 42 years ago on this exact date, July 20th, something extraordinary happened. Astronaut, Neil Armstrong, was the first person to step foot on the moon. He was aboard Apollo 11 with Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin when he said the famous words, "That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind". July 20, 1969 is particularly an auspicious event and date on my part due to the fact that my dream job is to be an astronaut. ;) Neil Armstrong is, in my opinion, one of the coolest people to ever walk on planet Earth... and the moon, of course.

Dear Future Me,

Ever wondered what it would be like to get a letter sent to your future self that was sent by your present self? I may be confusing you a bit but there's a way to send yourself a time capsule through email. It's an amazing idea I came across almost three years ago. However, I've only used it once and it was the most fascinating thing I've ever done. FutureMe.org is a website that lets you email your future self. You choose a date, whether it be tomorrow or 10 years from now, and it gets sent straight to your email on whatever date you choose. Don't believe me? Try it out yourself on futureme.org Enjoy!

Put an end to Racism

I can't help but notice that racism is still haunting many lives. One would think that racism would've been disintegrated a long time ago, considering the fact that it's now 2011. However, I pretty much see racism everywhere I go. Growing up my parents always told me to never use the word "hate" because it was a strong and distasteful word. Well Mom & Dad, I have to rebel and admit that I hate racism. I will never understand what goes through a racist person's mind for them to have such a dislike towards people of different ethnicites and color. We're all human beings at the end of the day so what does it matter if the boy sitting next to you is black or the girl sitting behind you is white? The color of your skin does not determine who you are, what's on the inside should count. Well, at least to me. It's up to you to decide how you feel about racism. If you don't like it being done to you, don't do it to others. Quit the hate & reunite! :)

"When you call yourself an Indian or a Muslim or a Christian or a European, or anything else, you are being violent. Do you see why it is violent? Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind.
When you separate yourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence. So a man who is seeking to understand violence does not belong to any country, to any religion, to any political party or partial system; he is concerned with the total understanding of mankind." - Jiddu Krishnamurti

Lupe to the Fiasco!

Lupe Fiasco is a lyrical genius. I've been hearing a lot of negative comments by Lupe fans about his third album "LASERS". Despite the distaste shared by some fans, it was still a pretty dope album. The reason for the surprise taken by some Lupe fans was because his sound was a bit transformed. Meaning the beats have changed a bit but the dope lyrics remain. In my opinion I thought LASERS was pure genius but it still doesn't reach the same level as "Food & Liquor" & "The Cool". Lupe being my favorite rapper still gets my unconditional support 100%. However, for those of you who are truly unsatisfied with LASERS, Lupe's next album,"Food & Liquor II", is set to release pretty soon. Maybe then some of you can hear some new "old Lupe".
